My husband and I just returned from a three week trip to Gulu, a small city in northern Uganda. This was a remarkable trip for both of us.
The Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA), a rebel movement led by Joseph Kony, terrorized northern Uganda for almost two decades. The LRA killed, tortured, maimed, raped, and abducted hundreds of thousands of civilians, enslaved numerous children and killed their parents.
Our current focus is to return to northern Uganda next summer to work at Mother Teresa’s primary school. We are trying to raise money to purchase gutters and water collection tanks to provide clean drinking water and to purchase bricks and iron gates to provide safety.
